Various old splits, chips and losses. Various old veneer and moulding repairs with filler used in places. Evidence of old worm to areas throughout commode resulting in some losses. Some filler and dark wax applied to worm holes. Sun fading to timber. Later paper lining applied to interior of drawers. Paper also applied over backboards. It is possible that the backboards are old replacements. Handles are later replacements. There are old plugged holes visible to drawer fronts from previous handles. The coved sunburst decoration to the bottom of the drawer is usually an indication that the base is fitted with a secretaire.
