S 105 003-64, movement serial no. 2282xxxx, circa 1965, tachymeter bezel, matt black dial with chronograph centre seconds, baton markers and triple subsidiary dials, cal. 321 17 jewel movement with inner cap, original 7912 bracelet dated '1.65' with '6' end links, bezel 40mm; with Omega pouch and service related papers.  *In 1965 Edward Higgins 'Ed' White (1930-1967) was the first American to 'walk in space'. The Omega 105.003 has been coined the 'Ed White' as it was on the wrist of White during this historic milestone in space exploration.  The production period of the 105.003 was very short, lasting around three years from 1963. In 1966 it was superseded by the 'Professional' ref.105.012 famously worn on the moon in 1969.  Condition Report: Movement - currently working with chronograph resetting correctly. Rare and fine Rolex Cosmograph Daytona chronograph stainless steel gentleman's bracelet watch, ref. 6239, circa 1966, serial no. 147xxxx, with 300 unit bezel, silvered dial with applied baton markers, chronograph centre seconds with black subsidiary dials for hour, thirty minute recording and constant seconds, cal. 722 17 jewel movement, with screw down crown and twin pushers, expanding 7205 riveted Oyster bracelet with folding clasp and 57 end links, dated '4.67', 37mm.  *ex Dr. Hansell Collection; with period Rolex presentation box and Rolex service repair invoice dated 18.12.1978.  Introduced in 1961 the Rolex Cosmograph, originally designed for use by driving enthusiasts, was the first Rolex to be fitted with a tachometer bezel that could calculate, among other things, average speeds and lap times. By the mid 1960s the model had gained the name Daytona after the famous American race-car track, with the first examples printed with Daytona in small straight text under Cosmograph and fitted with a bezel calculated to 300 units. The bezel with 300 units were only available on the 6239 with Daytona printed in black underneath the Cosmograph, these were the first version of dial to feature the name Daytona.  Condition Report: Movement - appears working with chronograph setting correctly.
