A rare 1930s 18ct gold Universal Geneve Compur chronograph wristwatch ref. 12436, having signed gold tone dial, gold hour dots and Roman numerals, subsidiary dials at 3 & 9 o'clock and outer tachymeter band, the snap back 34mm case is signed to inside and marked 18K 750, case reference 797883 housing a manual wind in house 17 jewel calibre 285 movement reference 158839, currently fitted with two piece black leather strap. Condition: currently in good overall working order, recently serviced in 2016, comes with valuation certificates from 2018, there is some patina with age to dial with visible marks around 6, 10 & 11 o'clock on the outer tachymeter band and mark to dial to the right of 'Compur', all hands and dials working fine, crown is a later replacement and functions well, pushers in very good order and operating well, centre seconds hand returns to half way between 12 o'clock and one minute past, case has minor knife marks to side but otherwise very good for age no dents, glass appears new and is very clean.

Condition: not currently running although flywheel moves freely and centre seconds hand moves when ticking, no key provided, outer case back has shield emblem engraved, hallmarked to inside of case with London assay marks, dial has some natural patina with minor wear to number markings but overall good for age, centre seconds hand has slight bend to tip, general surface wear to outer of case including minor scratches but no dents, hinges ok, ring also marked 18.
