A 19th century silver cased, fusee pocket watch by Hasluck, Tottenham Court Road, London. The signed, white enamel dial with owners name George Kittoe as numerals, with gold spade hands. Slim full plate fusee lever movement with gold balance and diamond end stone. The silver consular case with raised cipher initials GK hallmarked 1866. The inside of the case bears the following inscription 'Carried throughout the Abyssinian campaign of 1868 before the siege and capture of magdala'. 52mm dia. Note: Captain Kittoe served with the 4th King's Own Regiment on Foot during the Abyssinian Campaign
