WEST BROM 1939-40 West Brom bound volume 1939-40 containing 23 programmes plus end of season summary. Nineteen of the programmes have covers, the four which do not being the three games played at The Hawthorns before the outbreak of the Second World War, 2 x Reserves v Manchester United and Birmingham and the 1st team v Tottenham plus number 4 the first Midland Regional game v Luton 21/10/1939. Those with covers are number 5 onwards v Leicester, Birmingham, Wolves, Coventry, Northampton, Birmingham , Shef Wed, Walsall, Luton, Birmingham, Wolves, Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton, Luton, Portsmouth (Cup), Bournemouth (Cup) and Walsall. Nineteen have covers. Bound in blue cloth with gilt inscription on spine and marked inside cover as "Withdrawn from Sandwell Public Libraries . Generally good

No date or venue but players in the Scottish team included Sutherland, Mulveny, Smith (Hearts), Gibson , Park, McLean, Ritchie (St Mirren), Ewen (Partick), Willox (Elgin City), Russell (Morton) and Moir (Aberdeen). The English included players from West Brom, Lincoln, Burnley, Belfast Celtic, Tottenham, Bolton, Nottm Forest and others. Slight folds. Measures 10" x 8". Generally good

Manchester United horizontal crease and slightly split on spine and Stoke 47/8, Manchester United score on front, small paper loss on back page, tape on front page and worn throughout, Tottenham FA Cup, Wolves and Chelsea vertical creases 48/9, 1961/2 X 15, 1967/8 X 4, 1970/1 X 2, 1972/3 X 3, 1974/5 X 15 and 1975/6 X 7, most of which are very slightly creased and some have team changes.
