Human Skull Anatomical Model or Specimen A human skull, characterised by a discernible horizontal cut along the upper cranium, indicating a detachable calvarium—a frequent feature in teaching specimens. The beige to off-white structure shows weathering and signs of age, with visible surface cracks, wear around the eye sockets, and minor discolouration. Teeth exhibit wear, staining, and some are missing or broken, particularly in the mandible, which includes handwritten labels such as "LM", "PM", "BLL", and "P/4". A round perforation is present on the mandible, suggesting prior mounting or study purposes. Cranial sutures are clearly visible, including the sagittal and coronal sutures, alongside notable fracture lines and surface pitting indicative of ageing and environmental exposure. The skull may originate from the 19th to early 20th century, potentially used in medical, scientific, or academic settings.
