1811-1860S POPOV PORCELAIN FACTORY GORBUNOVO PORCELAIN MONKEY PITCHER formed as a monkey dressed in a coat with striped pants with gilt detailing, wearing a black hat, seated atop a naturalistic base with a conforming handle, marked with blue underglaze factory mark under base; overall height: 18 cm (7 1/8 in.) CONDITION The pitcher appears in good condition. Scattered firing imperfections visible to the coat jacket. Overall surface dust visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV shows fluorescence but no apparent sign of restoration. N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale. McCulloch, Kinross, the spandrels painted with spaniels beneath an arch with a girl carrying a water pitcher, within a hood with swan neck pediment, over a trunk with bowed door between a pair of columns, on bracket feet, eight day movement, with weights and pendulum. 214cm

JOHNSON WALTER: (1887-1946) American baseball Player and Manager. Nicknamed “Barney” and “The Big Train”. Johnson played as pitcher for the Washington Senators during his 21 years of baseball career in the Major League. Widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. Johnson established several pitching records, some of which remain unbroken nine decades after. Very rare signed postcard photograph `Walter Johnson´, the image showing Johnson in a full length pose, playing for the Washington Senators. Also dated 1916 in Johnson´s hand beneath his signature. To the verso, the postcard bears a postmark, Washington, 6th September 1916, also bearing a small newspaper article affixed, dated 1916, and entitled “Walter Johnson really himself against Yanks”.
