*Glyn Morgan (1926-2015) STILL LIFE OF SEASHELLS Signed and dated '88 l.r., watercolour 10 x 29cm, together with the actual seashells illustrated When Morris came to judge a show at Pontypridd, the 17-year-old Morgan entered two pictures. Morris thought his work promising and invited him to his school in Suffolk. In the summer of 1944, the year he left Cardiff College of Art, Morgan booked a week at Benton End, formerly known as The East Anglian School of Drawing and Painting. Morgan was a frequent visitor to Benton End over the following years and Morris provided Morgan with artistic inspiration for the rest of his life. He had numerous solo exhibitions, including seven retrospectives, one at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth. *Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.

Designs for ceiling, four pen, ink & watercolour drawings on laid paper, one signed and another with artist's initials, some spotting and toning, larger study with central fold, 32 x 24 cm (12.5 x 9.5 ins) and smaller, all in modern matching frames, glazed (Qty: 4)NOTESPio Panfili (1712-1812), was a Bolognese painter and engraver. He painted the staircase ceiling of the Monastery of Padri Conventuali of Montegiorgio, the Refectory of the Franciscans in Rimini, and also the ceiling of the Cathedral of Fermo. His drawings are held by the Morgan Library and Museum of Modern Art in New York.

MORGAN FRANK: (1890-1949) American Actor, famous for his portrayal of the title character in the film The Wizard of Oz (1939). An unusual vintage signed sepia 8 x 10 photograph of Morgan seated in a full length pose opposite the film director George Fitzmaurice. Morgan has signed the image twice, once in white fountain pen ink and again in black fountain pen ink, adding two almost identical, lengthy sentiments in his hand, presumably to Fitzmaurice, 'This is just in case you can't read the opposite. Does your expression signify that I'm just a shade in the - a - wrong side or do you mean “it's a problem on my hands” - anyway you make work such a pleasure that I would like to sneak out with you some night & burn the candle at both ends - Frank Morgan'. About EX George Fitzmaurice (1885-1940) French-born American Film Director & Producer whose most famous work was The Son of the Sheik (1926) starring Rudolph Valentino. Fitzmaurice directed Morgan in The Emperor's Candlesticks (1937).
