14th century AD. A mixed group of ceramic heads from votive offerings, with dressed hair, earrings and other applied decorations. 271 grams total, 35-61mm (1 1/2 - 2 1/2"). From an old Derbyshire collection; acquired before 1938; believed from Majapahit, Java, Indonesia. According to the Nagarakretagama document, written in 1365 AD, the Majapahit Empire consisted of 98 regions, extending from Sumatra to New Guinea. Its base was the island of Java. It lasted for about two centuries from 1293 AD to around 1500 when the territory came partly under the control of the Sultanate of Demak. [No Reserve]

A bronze figure of Kubera (or Jambhala) Indonesia 9th/10th Century A gilt bronze figure of a two-armed Jambhala or Kubera (the Buddhist God of Wealth), Central or Eastern Java (Indonesia), 9th or 10th century, 20 cm (8 inches) high by 9.8 cm (4 inches) wide, seated on a double lotus pedestal in the lalitasana posture holding a jambharain his right hand and a money pouch in his left hand. At his right foot is a purnaghata and further purnaghatas are on the square shaped base.This figure was reputedly originally once in the collection of Samuel Eilenberg. Purchased from the collection of a well-known West Sussex scholar and collector of Asian art. Provanance: A private Oxford collector
Alfred Eick U510 6 x 4 b/w portrait photo Kriegsmarine in 1937, first serving on the destroyer Hermann Beitzen during the first year of the war. In November 1940 he joined the U-boats, first sailing on two trips on U-176. He became commander of U-510 in May 1943, patrolling the Brazilian Waters on his first U-boat patrol. His second patrol was on U-510 as a Monson Boat which was a Wolfpack operating far away from Germany out of Japanese bases in Indonesia at Jakarta, Penang and Sebang. U-510 operated in the Indian Ocean until January 1945 when they were ordered back to Germany, taking with them important materials including tin. U-510 was re-supplied with fuel from U-861 but ran out of fuel in the North Atlantic, finally managing to reach St Nazaire in April 1945. His awards were as follows: 12th January 1940 Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1st August 1943, Iron Cross 1st Class, 16 March 1944 German Cross in Gold, 31st March 1944 Knights Cross. Rare Good condition

British Army 1960’s Far East Campaign Photograph Album, which appears to have been compiled by a P Trumper. The album consists of mostly black and white larger format photographs showing locals, religious artefacts, buildings, British troops etc. The images have a description of the subject next to them. Good clear images of the Waterways of Hong Kong, image taken in Malaya of a mock Japanese POW camp, patrol during conflict in Indonesia. Images are all housed in a large album, some pages are loose. All images are very clear. Areas covered include Malaya, Brunei, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand etc. (70 images)
