They breed along the Himalayas and migrate south in winter to Sri Lanka, southern India and tropical Southeast Asia including parts of Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
Eleven Java shadow puppet props Indonesia polychromed leather with bamboo handles, including two kris blades, an axe, two knife blades, two birds, a tablet with a pierced inscription and three pierced fans, the highest 49cm. (11) These props are used in the Indonesian Wayang kulit shadow puppet play, offering the viewers a combination of ritual, lesson and entertainment.

Chinese Tek Sing shipwreck bowl, of circular pedestal form with unglazed basal ring and blue landscape scene to the outside, Nagel Auctions label, 14cm diameter. The Tek Sing (True Star) sailed from the port of Xiamen (then known as Amoy) in February 1822 bound for Jakarta in Indonesia with a cargo of ceramics and 1600 Chinese emigrants. The voyage took them through the Gaspar Strait, between the Bangka-Belitung Islands where she ran aground on a reef and sank in 100 feet of water. The next morning an East India Company vessel passing through the same waters found debris and about 190 survivors.

Choo Keng Kwang (born 3 June 1931) is a renowned first generation Singapore artist, famous for his scenes of Indonesia and he has many commissions to his credit including from the Singapore Government for use as state gifts to such as President Anwar Sadat of Egypt, Chairman Mao Tse-Tung of China and many others; using his method of preparing dyed fabric with the batik technique of wax and tying, he produces canvases that he then paints upon providing a distinctive style and vibrancy; a copy of an interview with the artist, at the age of 84 years and published in The Epoch Times issue for 19 June-2 July 2015 is included. Pliocene Period, 5.2-2.5 million years BP. A mastodon fossil bone carving from Java, Indonesia. 74 grams, 62mm (2 1/2"). From an old Bristol paleontological collection, acquired 1950s-1960s. Mastodons are species of extinct Mammut, distantly related to elephants, that lived during the late Miocene or late Pliocene Period up to their extinction at the end of the Pleistocene 10000 to 11000 years ago. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
