**Porcelain Figurines: Young Angel Figure 'Heavenly Angel' and Goebel Hummel 'On Our Way' Bavarian Children** This lot features two distinct porcelain figurines. The first figurine is an enchanting piece titled "Heavenly Angel," depicting a young girl holding a tall white candle. She is adorned in a long red gown with yellow star motifs and stands gracefully on a brown rectangular base. The addition of delicate angel wings attached to her back enhances the celestial theme. The figurine is part of a series with printed text reading "Christkindlein kommt Heavenly Angel" and inscribed with the artist's name, "M.J. Hummel," highlighting its collectible value. The second figurine is an intricate Goebel Hummel piece from the esteemed "Century Collection." It features two children, a boy, and a girl, standing on an elevated wooden bridge, adorned with exquisite details such as the girl's basket and the boy’s traditional Bavarian attire complete with a hat featuring a feather and suspenders. The bridge rests above a grassy patch with a small stream, bringing the scene to life. The underside bears several key markings: the Goebel trademark bee and text “Goebel Germany,” the stamp "First Issue 1994," and an inscription “Bald sind wir drüben” (On Our Way). Additionally, the printed number “753,” artist’s mark, and the notification that this figurine is part of a limited edition highlight its significance and authenticity. Together, these figurines embody exceptional craftsmanship and cultural heritage, making them coveted additions for any collector or admirer of fine porcelain art.
**Set of Eight Hummel Porcelain Figurines Depicting Children in Everyday Activities** This captivating collection consists of eight Hummel porcelain figurines, each intricately depicting children engaged in various everyday activities. These collectible items are crafted with exceptional detail, showcasing a range of scenes that include a child sitting on a fence holding a bird, a child walking with a book, another carrying a large container, and two figures sitting under umbrellas. Additional figures feature a child in a dark outfit holding a musical instrument, a child holding a pot with flowers, and a child grasping either a piece of fruit or a toy. The final figurine, named "Der kleine Konditor" (The Little Pastry Chef), portrays a child in a chef’s outfit holding a decorative dessert platter. Each figurine stands on a rounded base, contributing to their stability. Notable details include inscriptions on one figurine’s base reading "Mein Wunsch ist klein" and "My Wish is Small," as well as another figurine's umbrella inscribed with "Geborgen, Mädchen" (Sheltered, Girl). The figurines bear the hallmark of Goebel, a distinguished German manufacturer, with the Hummel signature and dates denoting exclusive editions from the early 1970s. With meticulously painted features and vibrant colours, reflecting the traditional Hummel craftsmanship, each piece exemplifies the charm and character typical of these esteemed collectibles. THE ROCK (1996) - Stanley Goodspeed's (Nicholas Cage) Pair of "Guidance" Computer Chips with VX "Pearl" - A broken VX missile guidance chip from Michael Bay's The Rock. It was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Sound and was released as Spine #108 by the Criterion Collection, cementing it as a classic of modern American cinema. This metal and plastic chip comes in two parts: one larger and mounted with static capacitors, and one smaller and flatter. Both pieces are distressed by production to appear snapped through their centers. They exhibit uneven edges and have no functionality. Dimensions: 1" x 1" x 0.25" (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 0.75 cm)Estimate: $1,000 - 2,000Bidding for this lot will end on Saturday, August 17th. THE ROCK (1996) - VX Canister with "Pearls" - A VX canister with "pearls" from Michael Bay's The Rock. Rogue Marines led by Brigadier General Frank Hummel (Ed Harris) stole canisters of poisonous VX gas, which Dr. Stanley Goodspeed (Nicholas Cage) and John Mason (Sean Connery) later extracted from missiles to render them inoperable.A critical and box office sensation for director Bay, The Rock was the fourth-highest-grossing English-language film worldwide in 1996. It was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Sound and was released as Spine #108 by the Criterion Collection, cementing it as a classic of modern American cinema. This burnished steel canister originated with a crew member. It is inset with 50 glass "pearls" mounted via plastic pipe in rows of 10. Each row leads to false copper and rubber-covered wiring affixed to the underside of the canister's cap. The pearls contain the remnants of green aloe vera gel (believed to be original from production) with copper-colored wire running down their sides. The rows are designed to pull out along with the cap. This canister has undergone partial sympathetic restoration, but three of the glass VX pearls, two on one strand and one on another strand, remain damaged with exposed sharp edges that should be handled carefully. Much of the gel exhibits leaking or evaporation from age, the wiring exhibits rusting and fraying, and the glass pearls remain in fragile condition. As a result, the lot should be handled gently.
