A mixed lot of small decorative pottery, porcelain and other items, including: a Royal Crown Derby lidded box decorated in the Oriental manner, a Hummel figure modelled with a dog barking at a young boy climbing a tree, a Dresden porcelain vase decorated with cartouche of courting couple, a 19th century Derby teacup and saucer and other items.
Christoph Erler, Vienna (c1815) From the collection of the late Donald Adcock An important 7ft 5in Viennese grand in a walnut veneered case with a double-bent side and angled tail. 6-octave keyboard FF to f4, with a Viennese action and four pedals controlling una corda, sustaining, bassoon and moderator stops. This pianoforte was made for Princess Esterhazy and was originally at the Schloss Eisenstadter. It is recorded in the castle inventory and still bears the inventory label. Originally purchased for the estate by by Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Haydn`s successor in the service of Princess Esterhazy, for the use of the young Princesses. It was bought by Donald Adcock in a Sotheby`s sale in 1988. (See front cover and inside colour illustration)
