A Fabulous Quality Victorian Coromandel Vanity Box by Howell, James & Co. Regent St. London, fitted with various silver lidded glass bottles & jars, hallmarked London 1871 with George Betjemann & Sons makers' stamp, and mother of pearl handled implements, with an inset engraved brass maker's plaque to the velvet lined base drawer. 7¾ ins (20 cm) high, 12¼ ins (31 cm) wide, 9 ins (23 cm) deep.

A mid-Victorian coromandel fitted travelling toilet box, the brass bound box with fitted double lever lock stamped for George Betjemann & Sons, the whole containing nine various silver topped toilet bottles, boxes and a shaving brush holder, each finely engraved and with centre armorial, the silver assayed George Betjeman & Sons and dated London 1874, the pull-out tray opening to reveal further velvet lined cover, the secret base drawer stamped Howell James & Co of Regent Street, the whole with gilt brass fittings and velvet lined, the cover with inset leather bound mirror, w.21.5cm Condition Report / Extra Information Box - with some light fading, otherwise good and all original. Brass all good. Hinges and catches excellent, lock working and with key. Mirror good. All internal leather and velvet good with minor age wear only. Glass all good - no chips or breaks. Silver excellent, engraving crisp, all marks good and clean. Generally an excellent example and appears little used.

A late 19th century French mantle clock, with porcelain panels and two-train striking movement, the base marked "Howell & Co.". Height 36 cm, width 26 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in generally very good condition. The porcelain panels are undamaged. The gilding is generally good and the piece simply dusty. The clock face is undamaged and the movement is ticking away and striking as it should.
