Slavery.- Price (Howell ap David) A Genuine Account of the Life and Transactions...Exhibiting a Series of most remarkable Occurrences during his Seven Years Travels Abroad; Five of which were spent with a Lady he had released from Slavery. With farther particulars since his return with her to England. Written by himself, first edition, advertisement leaf at end, very slight worming to lower margin and light water-staining to endpapers but otherwise an excellent clean copy, contemporary sheep, rubbed, spine ends and corners worn, joints split, [Raven 145], 12mo, for T.Osborne, 1752.⁂ An imaginary adventure story involving capture by the French, slavery, robbery, a desert journey, Mecca, shipwreck etc. as well as meeting and marrying a slave before returning with her to Wales. It is interesting to note that Cardiff University includes this as one of its "Key rare texts" in the abolition of slavery story.

HEPBURN AUDREY: (1929-1993) Belgian-born British actress, Academy Award winner. An unusual D.S., Audrey Hepburn, one page, 4to, n.p. (Tolochenaz, Vaud), n.d. (March/April 1981), on the printed stationery of The American Film Institute. The typed document takes the form of a letter addressed to Hepburn from Howell Begle of the AFI, dated 20th March 1981, and concerns the Fred Astaire Life Achievement Award Presentation and states, in part, 'On April 10, 1981, The American Film Institute will honor Fred Astaire with its ninth annual Life Achievement Award. The award will be presented at a dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel which will be attended by nearly two thousand members of the film community. A two-hour television program will be produced by AFI regarding the award presentation to be broadcast initially by CBS on April 18, 1981. The Institute's presentation to Mr. Astaire includes a screening of selected clips from his more important films. Among the films to be included in this screening is “Funny Face”. Framed Lithograph, titled "Sedona Autumn", dated 1983. Artist signature on lower right. Numbered 1/100. Has Certificate of Authenticity on back. Frank Howell was born in 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa. A well-known Southwest painter, print-maker and gallery owner, he did finely rendered, etching like portraits of time-worn Native Americans. His goal was to depict the dignity of his subjects. He was born in Sioux City Iowa and raised in a small home overlooking the Missouri River. He studied art and writing at the Unviersity of Northern Iowa andtaught high school in Iowa. In the late 1960s, he moved to Colorado and opened Breckenridge Galleries. After living briefly in Taos and Colorado, he opened the Howell Gallery in Santa Fe. He was an accomplished photographer, and writer of an art computer program. Overall size: 29 3/8 x 38 1/8 in. Sight size: 21 1/2 x 30 1/2 in.

April 28, 1802) was a Revolutionary officer, lawyer, and the third Governor of New Jersey. He sent the winter of 1777 at Valley Forge with George Washington for whom he resigned his commission in order to perform intelligence work. Howell rose to the rank of Brigade Major and participated in the Canadian campaign and the battles of Brandywine, Germantown, and Monmouth.
