A collection of lighters and other collectable items to include a quantity of coinage, to include pre-decimal currency (coins and notes) plus a lockable security box. Lighters include a Ronson Crown (a/f); a collection of different branded lighters to include a mickey mouse lighter and another in the form of a speedboat. Plus a total of eight Zippo lighters, two are engraved, one (as found) bears the logo of the Army School of Mechanical Transport; another is Harley Davidson branded and in a matching tin, plus others in original packaging. All untested.

Großformatige, aussagekräftige Arbeit mit pastosem Farbauftrag. Alexis Nunnelly ist eine in New York lebende Künstlerin, die sich in ihren Arbeiten bild- und farbgewaltig mit Feminismus und Populärkultur beschäftigt und Inspiration aus Fotografie und zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen zieht. Sie zeigt ihre weiblichen Figuren selbstbestimmt und befreit. In der vorliegenden Arbeit auf einer Harley Davidson sitzend, Symbol des American Way of Life, das das weibliche Modell selbstbewusst für sich beansprucht. Mixed media with felt-tip pen, oil and spray paint on Arches wove paper (with watermark). Spot-mounted to mat and framed under glass. - With small holes in corners as trace of previous mounting. All in all very good. Large-format, expressive work with impasto paint application. - Alexis Nunnelly is a New York-based artist whose work explores feminism and popular culture through powerful images and colours, drawing inspiration from photography and interpersonal relationships. She shows her female figures as self-determined and liberated. In the present work, sitting on a Harley Davidson, symbol of the American way of life, the depicted woman confidently claims the motorcycle for herself.

Die Montierung von verso etwas durchscheinend. Insgesamt gut. Provenienz: Privatsammlung Berlin. - Charakteristisch für die Arbeiten Thomas Zipps sind die Bezugnahme auf Politik, Populärkultur, Wissenschaft, Literatur und Philosophie. Im Resultat entsteht eine Befragung des Künstlers an unsere Gesellschaft und das Offenlegen des Psychogrammes der westlichen Zivilisation - hier personifiziert durch das Motorradmodel einer Harley Davidson als Ausdruck des Entwicklungsgeistes des Menschen, der Errungenschaft der technischen Innovation sowie der Kraft der freien Fortbewegung. Mit Einzelausstellungen im Fridericianum Kassel und Teilnahmen an der Biennale di Venezia, der Berlin Biennale sowie Gruppenausstellungen in der Tate Modern London, dem New Yorker MoMA und dem ZKM Karlsruhe, zählt Thomas Zipp zu einem der bedeutendsten Vertreter der Gegenwartskunst. Conditions appear to range from Fair to Good in generally Good outer boxes and poor inner polystyrene.
