A Pair of Fine 19th Century Carved & Polychromed Venetian Figural Torchères. The male and female Blackamores dressed in elaborately decorated costume with feathered head-dresses, holding a tazza in one hand and carrying a turbanned child on their shoulder, in turn holding aloft a gilded cornucopia. The figures raised on hexagonal simulated porphyry pedestals festooned in gilded floral garlands, 82½ ins (210 cms) high.
A Pair of 16th/17th Century Polychrome Carvings of Evangelists: The bearded figures with shoulder length curly hair wearing brown tunics enriched with gilding, sat with open books upon their laps; one on the back of a sheep, 11 ins (28 cms) and 12 ins (30.5 cms) in height.
A Large 17th/18th Century Ebony Collector's Cabinet with Painted Ornamentation. The chest surmounted by a moulded pediment bearing a gilt bronze heraldic cartouche held between two cherubs. The numerous drawers faced with small ripple moulded panels intricately painted with various scenes depicting figures on landscape and adorned with metal metal mounts. The central break front tabernacle door centred by a gilt bronze figure of Venus in an arched niche below a scrolling pediment on Corinthian style columns. The table form base with turned legs united by a turned centre stretcher, 81 ins (206 cms) high, 64 ins (162 cms) wide, 23 ins (58 cms) deep.
A Small Oil on Board depicting The Old Royal Exchange, London with paper label to verso inscribed; 'The Old Royal Exchange Built 1667 after the great fire of London burnt Jan 10 1838, said to by by Guardi the pupil of Canaletto, who came to London and staid two years, but whether Guardi accompanied him, I cannot discover. The picture is in the style of Guardi; the dresses of the figures are those of the beginning and middle of the 18th century. Guardi was born 1712 died 1793, CRH',6½ ins x 9¾ ins (16.5 cm x 25 cms), set in a beaded gilt frame, 12 ins x 15 ins (30 cms x 38 cms).
A Pair of 17th Century Carved & Gilded Limewood Female Figures wearing long flowing robes tied at the waist with rope, knelt on scrolling clouds above rectangular bases, one inscribed; 'Offert par Mme Auquin'. The statues approximately 39 ins (100 cms) in height and elevated on later made rectangular plinths 36 ins (91 cms) high.
