A nineteenth century Chinese fan with lacquered guards and sticks, the leaf painted with dignitaries and attendents in gardens and an interior; together with a late 18th / early 19th century fan with mother of pearl and gilt decorated guards, some of the sticks with pierced decoration, the leaf painted with Classical figures in a garden landscape (framed and glazed, not examined out of the frame)Condition report: 18th century European fan has one very small tear and area of glue to the right-hand guard stick. The guard stick is also damaged. Some minor losses to two or three of the other sticks. The reverse is not visible. Guard stick is 27cm. Open length is 48cm. Frame is 57cm by 38cm. Chinese fan has some water damage and tears where it has been pinned to the frame. Sticks are in reasonable order. Also can not see reverse on this fan. Chinese fan guard stick measures 28cm. Fan open width is 52cm. Frame is 80cm by 49.5cm.
A large Chinese blanc de chine statue of Guanyin, impressed seal mark; together with two similar figures, a 19th century blue and white moon flask, Japanese Meiji period miniature bronze koro, cloisonne bowl and cover, a satsuma kettle and three brass figures of immortals etc.Condition report: Large blanc de chine figure - 44.5cm high, in good condition with impressed character marks to the reverse. Second Blanc de chine figure - 36.5cm high, with no visible faults. Third blanc de chine figure - 27cm, fingers lacking, flea bite chips throughout, discoloured. Tea bowls all in good condition. Moon flask - both handles lacking, chip to the rim, some paint scratches. Saucer - with firing flaws. Japanese teapot - crazed but otherwise OK. Scent bottle is modern and in good condition. Bronze censor - good condition. Cloisonne vase and cover - noticeable pitting throughout, mild dent to lower half of the main body. Gilt bronze sages in good condition. Foliate cast bronze stand (probably Japanese) with some bent elements, otherwise OK. Five carved wood netsukes in good condition - two of them are signed.
