However scuffing/scratching can be seen to one area on the back and one area to the front. Hairs loose on one bow. No visible signs of cracks or worm seen.

Segnatura: a-t8. Àncora aldina al titolo e al verso  dell'ultima carta. Esemplare eccezionale, privo di difetti, a grandi margini. Bella legatura ottocentesca in marocchino rosso a grana larga, firmata da Bozerian le Jeune, bordura dorata ai piatti dov'è presente un supra libros dorato con motto "VIRTUS SOLA INVICTA', dorso a 5 nervi con titolo in oro, scomparti con decorazione a pointille, tagli dorati. Contropiatto in seta viola, sguardie in pergamena, prerogativa degli esemplari rilegati da Bozerian per il grande bibliofilo francese, A.A. Renouard, autore dei celebri Annales aldini. Esemplare appartenuto a Henry Fitzalan-Howard 15th Duke of Norfolk (1847 -1917) di cui il motto con cresta nobiliare ai piatti. Seconda edizione aldina, più rara della precente del 1509 (vd. lotto 137) di cui riprende avviso ai lettori e dedicatoria. Esemplare probabilmente appartenuto a Renouard. Il De Catilinae coniuratione è la seconda monografia storica della letteratura latina e la prima scritta da Sallustio. Seguendo una scansione narrativa suddivisa in 61 capitoli, l'opera narra la congiura ordita da Lucio Sergio Catilina nel 63 a.C., nel tentativo, rivelatosi poi fallimentare e costatogli la vita, di instaurare una dittatura populista e antinobiliare a Roma. La congiura viene vista dallo storico di Amiternum come uno degli argomenti più significativi della decadenza morale e sociale della classe dirigente romana durante il I secolo a.C., una corruzione che egli denuncia e critica severamente lungo tutta la narrazione.  Renouard, 93.16; Ahmanson-Murphy, 194.

HAHN REYNALDO: (1874-1947) Venezuelan-born French Composer & Conductor. A.M.Q.S., Reynaldo Hahn, two pages (manuscript paper), n.p., June 1910. The extensive quotation, possibly a working manuscript, is written in bold pencil and comprises two untitled compositions for piano, both in 6/8 time, the first comprising 28 bars of music in F Sharp Minor and the second, to the verso, comprising 18 bars of music in C Major. Signed by Hahn at the head of the recto in pencil and dated in his hand to the lower margin. Some light overall age wear, VG Hahn composed a number of works in 1910, the same year as the present quotation, including his Romanesque in C-Major, a piece of chamber music for flute, viola and piano which draws inspiration from an Italian folk dance.
