Framed Grouping to Squadron Leader A R D MacDonell, the photos and pilots wings belonged to MacDonell, the other R.A.F. badges were added by the vendor, also included is an office sign from when MacDonell was a Group Captain at the Joint Services Staff College, Aenas Ranald Donald MacDonell the Hereditary 22nd Chief of Glengarry was born in 1913 and joined the Royal Air Force in 1932, in July 1940 he took command of 64 Squadron at Kenley where he scored a number of victories during the Battle of Britain being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, on 13th March 1941 MacDonell was shot down by the German fighter Ace Werner Molders on a sweep over France, he baled out and was captured, being sent to Stalag Luft 3, he received a Mention in Despatches for distinguished services while a PoW, MacDonell was made a CB and retired from the RAF on 15th November 1964 as an Air Commodore, he passed away in 1999

Chad Valley - A vintage Chad Valley 'Sooty' hand puppet with magic wand; together with a Chad Valley 'Sweep' hand puppet. The lot comes with an autographed photo card of which is signed and undated to the rear 'Love from Sooty Sweep & Harry Corbett to Jennifer'. The puppets measure approximately 23cms and 25cms respectively and appear to be in Fair Plus - Good condition and have signs of play wear, and use (sweep missing his nose and squeaker / growler).

R.A.F.) the first very fine, otherwise extremely fine (3) £80-£100 --- Harry Carpenter was born at Lee, Kent, and enlisted into the Oxfordshire Light Infantry in London on 3 November 1898, aged 18, a sweep by trade. He served with the 1st Battalion in South Africa from February to July 1900, and with the 2nd Battalion in India from November 1901 to January 1907. He was discharged on termination of his first period of engagement on 2 November 1910. Sold with copied discharge papers with confirm Q.S.A. and clasps.
