Maker's mark 'CH'. Chester 1892 (with key, glass cracked) and a Chrome Split Seconds Stop Watch with 3 second sweep, the seconds divided into 100ths and with 2 minute Register movement No 25107 with monometallic balance, in plain case (with National Physical Laboratory Certificate dated 29th October 1938). A fine quality regulator timepiece clock, set in quality veneered mahogany case with glazed panel to door and Georgian influence to the design of the case standing on ogee bracket feet. The movement has heavy brass stepped plates with unusual turned and shaped pillars, dead beat escapement, maintaining power to drive, pendulum adjustment with plateform support for pendulum suspension. The dial is of 13in diameter in brass with a silvered finish, original sweep minute hand and subsidiary dials for seconds and hours. The dial is engraved Sobey of Exeter. 209cm high
