John Wright, Dorking, an 18th century oak eight-day longcase clock, the square silvered dial engraved with a sail ship off the coast and with sweep date hand, chiming the hours on a bell and with pull cord hour repeat, 206 cm high Condition Report Complete, movement clean, case dirty, appears movement/case related although seat board replaced
A REGULATOR CLOCK, THE DIAL SIGNED ARCHARD, LONDONthe 11" silvered dial with minute sweep hand, subsidiary second and hour dials, inscribed 'Archard, No. 70 South Audley St, London', on a brass movement with dead beat escapement, jewelled pallet and evidence of later electrical work now removed, steel, glass and mercury pendulum with brass indicator plate, housed in a mahogany case with arching hood with glazed side panels, the trunk with arched glazed door, panelled base and plinth foot, height 189cm. A Henry Archard is recorded in South Audley Street between 1851 and 1870. Provenance: Family history suggests that the clock was bought by the family directly from Archard's premises before World War 2. It is believed that this clock was the Master Clock in Archard's premises and used by other local makers to set their clocks from.
A small Steiff 1999 chimney sweep bear, no.030796, with white and red numbered tag to ear, no.11516, height approx 10cm, and two small Steiff teddy bears with red and yellow tags to their ears, one pink dressed as a clown, the other golden, height of each approx 9cm, and a boxed Steiff 2000 teddy bear figurine, plus small teddy bear in a hanging stocking (4). CONDITION REPORT: All good condition.
