Arsenal captain Joe Mercer gold No.6 shirt from the F.A. Cup final v Liverpool at Wembley 29th April 1950, Hope Brothers Ltd/Solus Sports, long-sleeved, badge with cloth badge inscribed 1949-50 Soon after joining Arsenal in late 1946, Joe Mercer became club captain. As captain, he led Arsenal through their period of success in the late 1940s and early 1950s, helping to haul his side from the lower end of the table to win a League Championship title in 1947-48 and to win an F.A. Cup in 1950, the year he was also voted FWA Footballer of the Year. Mercer led Arsenal to a Cup final in 1952, which they lost 1-0 to Newcastle United, but the following year the Gunners bounced back to win the 1952-53 Championship. A broken leg in two places after a collision with team-mate Joe Wade in a match against Liverpool on 10th April 1954 ended his playing career. He then embarked on a successful managerial career. Joe Hulme's red Arsenal jersey from the F.A. Cup Final v Newcastle United at Wembley 23rd April 1932, by Bukta and with a label inscribed PRESENTED TO A GOOD SPORTSMAN BY TOM WEBSTER, long-sleeved, the badge with AFC crest and dated 1932 Joe Hulme was born in Stafford 26th August 1904. He was a fine all-round sportsman who played 225 times for Middlesex County Cricket Club as well as being a top-flight footballer for Arsenal and England. Herbert Chapman signed the right-winger from Blackburn Rovers in 1926 and made a total of 333 League appearances for the Gunners scoring 107 goals. At Arsenal Hulme won four League Championship medals, two F.A. Cup winner's medal and two Cup runners-up medals. He was also capped for England nine times between 1927 and 1933. This shirt was from the 1932 F.A. Cup Final when Arsenal were defeated 2-1 by Newcastle United. Two England international caps awarded to Jue Hulme are being offered elsewhere in this catalogue as lots 657 & 658.
A Colman's Mustard vesta case commemorating Bradford City's 1911 F.A. Cup victory, white metal with yellow & blue enamel inscribed COLMAN'S MUSTARD, ENGLISH CUP, CELEBRATE BRADFORD CITY'S VICTORY, MANCHESTER, APRIL 1911, 5 by 4cm., 2 by 1 1/2in. The reference to Manchester is in relation to the Cup Final finishing 0-0 at Crystal Palace. Bradford's 1-0 victory over Newcastle United came in the replay at Old Trafford on 26th April 1911.

1924 FA Cup Final Ticket: Newcastle United v Aston Villa dated 26 4 1924 only the second Final at Wembley. Small piece missing from edge and some folding and creasing. Rare chance to obtain an original ticket. There was a lot of fakes around of this ticket and a lot of unsuspecting collectors will not know they have one so check yours, if its excellent chances are it may not be real.

Newcastle United, at Wembley Stadium, 16th May 1998, attractively and professionally custom hardbound in red cloth with gilt lettering, the front free endpaper individually signed by the manager and all seventeen members of the Arsenal squad who won the FA Cup, comprising Arsene Wenger, David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Nigel Winterburn, Patrick Vieira, Tony Adams, Nicolas Anelka, Marc Overmars, Christopher Wreh, Martin Keown, Ray Parlour, Emmanuel Petit, Steve Bould, David Platt, Ian Wright, Alex Manninger, Gilles Grimandi and Dennis Bergkamp. All have signed with their names alone in bold black inks alongside their neat calligraphic ink squad numbers and beneath a neat calligraphic ink title. EX Arsenal were victorious in the 1998 FA Cup final, beating Newcastle United 2-0 with goals from Marc Overmars and Nicolas Anelka. Two weeks earlier the club had won the Premier League and victory in the FA Cup secured their second league and cup double.
