Derby County: A 15ct gold medal, awarded to Derby County forward Harry Leonard as part of the Derby side that won Football League Division 2 in the final full season before World War I, the 1914-15 season. The medal inscribed: 'The Football League Champions Div. 2 1914-15 Derby County F.C. H. Leonard', enameled to the front with a crown and two crests, hallmarked to reverse, 'Thomas Fattorini & Sons, Birmingham 1915'. The medal carries a gross weight of 21g.Notes: Harry Leonard was a centre forward through his career that spanned across six clubs, including Newcastle United, Grimsby Town, Middlesbrough, Manchester United, Heanor Town and most notably Derby County where he played between 1911-1920, as well as serving the Royal Engineers during WWI between 1915-1919. Leonard was born in Sunderland in July 1886 and passed away in 1951. According to sources, Leonard scored 19 goals in 32 appearances during the 1914-15 title winning season.
