A VINTAGE MELBA WARE CHINTZ TEAPOT

Daisy Makeig-Jones for Wedgwood, a Fairyland Lustre Melba centre bowl, circa 1920, the exterior decorated in the 'Garden of Paradise' design, factory backstamp and number Z24968, 20.5cm diameter, 14.5cm high.Condition report:In very good condition, no chips, hairlines, or restoration. Retains a very good ring. There are two very slight surface scratches to the exterior, and also a small patch to the exterior rim (adjacent to a tree) where the glaze hasn't taken, but it is under the lustre glaze so in the firing, not subsequent post-production damage. See extra images focusing on these areas. The gilding remains strong, some rubbing to the inner well and rim, but in general very good.

Three bisque headed dolls to include one with the head impressed 'P.R / S.F.B.J. / 60 / PARIS /8/0' approx 29cm l, with fixed dark brown glass eyes and an open mouth on a jointed composition body, one marked "Melba England" to of back with fixed blue glass eyes and open mouth approx 40cm l and another marked with a star to back of neck with fixed glass grey eyes and open mouth approx 32cm l.

Pottery to include an Arcadian figure of June, Melba Ware Globe, Shelley and others (Qty). Mostly in good condition with no obvious damage or restoration.

This grouping includes a double cup egg cup crafted from Melba, a ceramic handled bottle opener decorated with a floral pattern, and the complimentary Aynsley rectangular tray in the Pembroke pattern. The egg cup measures 2.75"L x 2"W x 4.25"H. The bottle opener: 5.75"L x 1.25"W. The tray measurers: 8.25"L x 2.5"W x 1"H. Issued: 20th CenturyCondition: Age related wear.

MARIE HALL (VIOLINIST) INTEREST: AN ALBUM OF MUSICIAN AND COMPOSER POSTCARDS "mostly late 19th/ 20th Century musicians , including Miss Marie Hall (1884-1956); Jan Kubelik and his wife; Melba, Elgar, etc, contained in a bound album, together with one of Miss Hall's calling cards. Hall was the first performer of Vaughan Williams' Lark Ascending, and a major figure in early 20th century music. Most cards addressed to one Miss M. Glennie, Gravelly Hills (a music school?) Provenance: by repute acquired by the vendor's grandfather in exchange for cigarettes during WWII.
