Played by me for the first time as the Crystal Palace on the 8th of December in 1855' and signed and dated Crystal Palace, 4th June 1903), Clara Butt, Pablo de Sarasate (beneath an attractively penned musical quotation from a work by Mendelssohn in the hand of a collector), Samuel Coleridge Taylor (A.M.Q.S.), Emma Albani (A.M.Q.S.), Edward Lloyd, Fritz Kreisler, Marie Hall, Jan Kubelik (beneath an attractively penned musical quotation in the hand of a collector), Camille Saint-Saens, Wilma Halle, Jaroslav Kocian, Ben Davies, Marie Brema, John Thomas (A.M.Q.S. from The Spinning Wheel), Franz von Vecsey (early example dated London, 1904 in his hand), Nellie Melba, Edward German, Ada Crossley, Frederic Cowen, Mark Hambourg (brief A.M.Q.S.), Wilhelm Backhaus (beneath an attractively penned musical quotation from a work by Chopin in the hand of a collector), S. Signed by Melba in bold black fountain pen ink to the front free endpaper and dated 1926 in her hand. With the bookplate of Colonel A. E. Jenkins neatly laid down to the front pastedown. Lacking the dust jacket. Some age wear to the boards and the spine faded. Together with a bold black fountain pen ink signature ('Nellie Melba') on a small oblong 12mo piece, evidently trimmed from a letter. Dame Nellie Melba Blackpool Entertainment Interest Very Rare Edwardian Theatre Programme And Associated Ephemera 1910 'Madame Melba, Grand Concert' Winter Gardens Blackpool, paper programme with colour pages and cover, wonderful condition, all pages intact. also, two Edwardian colour programme covers from the Winter Gardens, Easter Holidays 1910 'Indian Lounge' programme, 1909 Marine Hall concert programme etc. Also included, several very rare printed and typed orchestral rehearsal schedules circa 1910. A wonderful collection, in very good condition.
