A Kestner 192 child doll with provenance, with blue sleeping eyes, waxed lids, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, jointed composition body with fixed wrists, dark yellow silk frock with puffed sleeves, undergarments, brown leather shoes - 151/2in (39cm) high; and a parasol pin-cushion made from a bone knitting needle. Provenance letter. Notes: This doll was dressed by Jenny Shelly for her niece Gwendolin May Shelly as a Christmas present for 1899; sadly Gwenie died on April 4th 1900 a month before her eighth birthday
