A Johann Daniel Kestner bisque headed doll, marked to the rear J.D.K 260 Made In Germany, with brown sleeping eyes, open mouth with teeth on composition body with jointed legs, arms and wrists, dressed in period clothing, approximately 67 cm tall [AF] and a further German made Boy Doll with composition head and soft body [2].
Wonderful A.T Kestner bisque head doll, German circa 1885, the beautifully moulded pale bisque head with weighted brown glass eyes, moulded lids with finely painted lashes and brows, delicate shading to cheeks and open/closed mouth, with her original blonde wig in ringlets and plaster pate, on a good fully jointed wood and composition body with fixed wrists and wearing a white cotton dress with lace detail and collar, underclothes and brown leather heeled boots, incised 14, this doll is known as A.T Kestner as it has a close resemblance to the rare French A.Thuillier French Bebe, (condition: tiny kiln dust spot to nose, some repair to fingers, boots are worn, small piece missing from plaster pate, head perfect), 24” (61cm) tall.
