FRIEDRICH GOLDSCHEIDER, A RARE LARGE BRONZE FIGURE 'THE SNAKE DANCER' EARLY 20TH CENTURY Patinated in varying shades of gold, signed indistinctly 'Bousé' (untraced), Goldscheider foundry mark and numbered 24 twice 90cm high Condition Report: As per detailing below- this has been untouched for some time and there is dirt build up to crevices and base. Some rubbing to patina of exposed areas- face, breasts, limbs- rubbed area quite deep to section of snake behind her left arm- - stains or surface marks across Goldscheider stamp and across the base of her back. Provenance; private collection Yorkshire. The bronzes from this collection have largely been left untouched for at least 10 years and have therefore acquired heavy coatings of atmosphere dust and dirt. Where possible the topmost layers of this have been removed using vacuum and soft brushes but we have elected to take this no further allowing potential purchasers to determine the levels of cleaning they require in accordance with their own taste.The layers of grime/dirt do make it difficult to state the exact nature of the original surface with rubbed sections possibly obscured. We would strongly recommend interested parties inspect them in person or send advisors to carry out firsthand examination for them.Please see numerous additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report.All lots are available for inspection and Condition Reports are available on request. There is a small splinter chip to her right index finger and to the edge of the base, and a few other tiny nibbles around the edge of the base, otherwise in good condition with no restoration or cracks.
