A Campaign decanter box, used by Ensign James Gammell during the Peninsular WarA square 'campaign-style' mahogany decanter box, with decorative brass inlay and escutcheon, brass handles to sides and a brass plate affixed to the top lid bearing the engraved inscription 'This case went through the Peninsular campaigns of 1813-1814 with its owner, Ensign James Gammell 59th Regiment, who retired from the Army (as Captain of 92nd Regiment) in 1825. 1 Large-Medium 1 1/4" 19th C. colorful Gin Bari enamel example. These stunning foil backed Cloissonne buttons were made in Japan during the late part of the 19th century for export. The colorful array of flowers and the beautiful foil background in this example is what makes these such desirable buttons. You can plainly see the cloisons in this example. 1 Medium size late 19th C. foil enamel known as Gin Bari work. This beautiful Japanese button is done in the Gin Bari technique on a deep blue sky colored background depicting 2 BATS and a MOON. Very unusual subject matter here. Gin Bari pictorials like this do not come up for sale that often and when they do they seem to go very fast. I have never seen Bats on a Gin Bari button before.
