The gilt cover shows surface wear including some fine surface scratching, and would benefit from cleaning. The case shows minor surface wear and would benefit from cleaning.

A Swiss bird cage automaton by Reuge Music, 20th century, of typical form with two singing birds, maker's mark to base, 28.5cm high (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The piece appears functional, with both birds moving and tweeting. The red bird shows damage to its tail. The base of the cage shows extensive dust accumulated over what appears to be yellow velvet. The foliage details are similarly encrusted in dust.
