King, another of the sun setting over water by Sid Gardner, a pencil drawing of a windmill by T.W. Hammond, a watercolour of a young cleric by Fred May, a pencil drawing of a horse and foal by Arthur Spooner, another of Madame Butterfly by Lance Thackeray, and others, a.e.g., orig. roan, worn, with sl. loss to spine, and leather to upper cover split at edges and becoming detached, approx. 170 x 200mm, together with several sketches on envelopes loosely inserted With manuscript letter signed from Tom Browne to Mrs. Atkey tipped-in to front pastedown, on the artists headed paper, dated February 1st 1902, in which Browne explains that he is returning the album, saying I have got a few good names in your book. A rock crystal parasol handle with gold and enamel mounts, Anton Wildhack, Vienna, circa 1905, scratched inventory number 11(or H)7523 in Secessionist taste, the spherical knop incised with flowers and set with turquoises, the collar enamelled in translucent turquoise over wavy engine-turning within gold bands, wood shaft, with eight tips in original case for J. C. Vickery/ 178/ 181 & 183/ Regent St. W. length 30.5cm, 12in (10) The firm of J. C. Vickery was founded around 1890 by John Collard Vickery in a short-lived partnership with Arthur Thomas Hobbs at 183 Regent Street. Continuing alone after 1891, Vickery extended his premises in 1900 to 179, 181 and 183 Regent Street, with showrooms to the rear at 1 New Burlington Place, where in 1913 he is listed as a goldsmith, silversmith, jeweller, dressing case and fitted travelling bag manufacturer, watch and clock importer, etc., with Royal Warrants from the King and Queen, the King of Spain, the King and Queen of Denmark, the Queen of Norway and the King f Sweden. The business filed for bankruptcy in 1930, the year of Vickery's death, and was acquired by James Walker Ltd. (See J. A Victorian yew wood dumb waiter, of shaped rectangular form consisting of three tiers. The top surmounted at each corner by finials in the form of picturesque turrets, each shelf bordered with rocaille and scroll work gallery and raised on scroll corner supports. A further central upright support is carved with shamrock and armorials and the entire is on a base with central cabochon to the apron, flanking acanthus leaves and scroll feet with castors. By Arthur Jones of 135 St. Stephen's Green Dublin, probably for the Dublin Industrial Exhibition of 1865.
* A small metal figure of a gentleman tennis player in shorts playing a back-hand stroke, c. 1940s, on black marble plinth, overall height 18 cm, together with an Arthur Wood Royal Bradwell Sports series treacle-glazed tankard with transfer-print decoration showing what is believed to be Jack Kramer and Margaret Osborne from 1947 Wimbledon championships, handle modelled in the form of a lawn tennis racket, height 13 cm, plus a Tretorn Championship commemorative tin containing six unused tennis balls, c. 1995, three cannisters of unused tennis balls including a set of four Nassau Official Tennis Ball of the 1988 Olympic Games, and two boxed games (8)
