A Goldscheider table lamp depicting The Virgin Mary with pale green glaze, raised on a shaped wooden base CONDITION REPORTS Height of Goldscheider figure excluding base approx. 26 cm. Overall with crazing to glaze, various small chips including to hair, fingers, etc., base is attached using a screw to the underside so it is possible that the figure has been later converted into a table lamp with hole drilled to underside, oval silver coloured paper sticker/label is still present to figure and inscribed "Goldscheider Vienna 1885-1935", figure has a dull sound when tapped possibly due to hole drilled to underside or possibly a fault line.

After Albert-Ernest Carrier Belleuse, (French, 1824 - 1887), an Austrian painted terracotta bust of a maiden by Goldscheider, Brunhaut, late 19th century, portrayed with head turned to sinister beneath a hood formed of an eagle`s head, the wings enshrouding her and descending to the loosely draped decolletage, on an integral rectangular section plinth, inscribed `Carrier-Belleuse` to one side and stamped `REPRODUCTION RESERVEE 1773/70/12` to the reverse, 71cm high.
