A late Victorian Elkington & Co. plated novelty hunting interest cruet set, modelled as a horseshoe shaped stand with spur handle surmounted by a boot shaped pepper and mustard, a riding hat salt and a horn shaped spice pot with spoon, together with two spoons with whip handles, height approx 9cm.
An early 20th Century horses hoof, mounted as a vesta, with metal mounts, 2 1/2in. (6cms) high; together with a late 19th Century lacquered papier mache snuff box, mounted to a horn, leather and hoof stand, on oak base with brass ball feet, 9 1/2in. (24cms) high, and a tusk handled fly whip, with horse hair brush. (3)

NICHOLAS GARLAND (British, b. 1935) `Well, I think he`s guilty!`, signed upper right and titled in the margin underneath, pen, ink, watercolour and bodycolour, 10 1/2" x 14 1/4" Note: Drawn by The Telegraph`s Garland, it shows a court scene with Michael Wolff in the dock and the jury led by Margaret Thatcher. She had just become the Leader of the Conservative Party and this is Garland`s first cartoon of her new cabinet. The story relates to the fact that she controversially sacked Wolff from his position as Director General of the Party. Her cabinet was incensed and refused to take the Whip in the Commons that night. This is the first Garland cartoon relating to Margaret Thatcher after she had become Leader of the Party

A silver-mounted whip commemorating the achievements of the great steeplechaser "Manifesto", the ivory-handled whalebone whip set with two wide silver bands, hallmarks visible but rubbed, the first band inscribed: "MANIFESTO", WINNER GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE, AINTREE, 1897 AND 1899, PLACED 4TH IN 1895, 3RD IN 1900, 1902, 1903, CARRIED 12ST 13LBS IN 1900, HON. E. HAVERFIELD; the second band inscribed ALSO WON, IRISH CHAMPION CHASE 1892, LANCASHIRE CHASE 1894, GRAND INTERNATIONAL CHASE 1897, length 81cm., 32in.
