An RAF Smiths Mark 3 1/5 sec A.M stop watch in a White metal Dennison case with white dial, black hands and Arabic numerals and subsidiary minutes dial. The case back marked A.M 6B/221 9481/41, Intended for general application and aircraft use. Keyless winding movement was designed to run for a period of 8-hours from fully wound. The chronograph action is controlled by the winding knob. The design and action of this mechanism are such that the second hand should indicate correctly to one-fifth of a second, and that starting and stopping errors should not exceed one-fifth of a second , with original RAF stores box and cloth case ,and an Elgin Timer Military Stopwatch/Timer, made for the US ordinance department, the movement is signed Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. USA, the base metal case is stamped cased and timed by Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. The rear has the Military Ordnance Arrow 161 and 1/5 Sec TP. and marked NO 08 14623.(2). Smiths stop watch mechanism winds and chronograph action functions but requires servicing. Plexiglass loose Elgin, mechanism not functioning at time of inspection Ewbank's do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any lots sold.
