A detonator with case and triggering device from Douglas Trumbull's sci-fi drama Silent Running. A lonely botanist (Bruce Dern) on board a spaceship watched over the last plant life in the galaxy until he was to destroy it. Rather than doing so, he jettisoned his cargo to safety and instead used the nuclear charges at his disposal to destroy his spaceship and himself, covering his tracks.This lot consists of a cobalt blue metal nuclear detonator with decorative red tape and a metal handle along with a gray and orange metal box with foam inlay containing a cylindrical triggering device. The box is labeled "Serial 500366" on the top and features four latch locking mechanisms. It is affixed with details such as a faux safety gauge and knob labeled "PRESSURE EQUALIZER." Also included is a trigger device affixed with goldtone tape details and features a clock-like timer on the top which is numbered 1 through 7. This lot is in good overall condition with some wear from production on all items, scuffing on the box and some missing tape on one side of the detonator. An early 19th century tiger fleck oak chest of drawers with shaped top above three long drawers and raised on bracket feet, width 103cm, depth 54cm, height 97cm. CONDITION REPORT Heavy signs of use throughout. The drawer handles have been replaced at some point, leaving the hole and the marker of the previous handle. The top is heavily stainer, scuffed, scratched and faded. The plank construction of the sides of this chest have started to separate. There are further holes to the right hand side where something has previously been attached to this chest of drawers. The ebonised drawer handles are heavily rubbed and showing a lighter timer through.
A vintage 1960s/70s Bendol divers wristwatch, with signed black dial, square shaped lumed hour indexes with silver 12-6-9 markers, lumed hands with hour pointer and sweeping center seconds pointer, date aperture at 3 o'clock, rotating tachymetre bezel in black, rotating minute track bezel in white and rotating outer world timer bezel in black, the 40mm case having stainless steel screw back with divers emblem and referenced 1161 csw, housing a 23 jewel EB (Ebauches Bettlach) caliber 8021-68 manual wind movement, currently fitted with after market stainless steel mesh link strap having fold clasp buckle, no box or papers.Condition: currently working although not sold with any guarantees, date and crown functions working ok, dial clean, slight minor marks to lumed indexes, surface scratches to the glass, some fading of numerals and slight wear with use to the rotating minute bezel, some surface scratches to back of case, strap ok and buckle functional.
