A 19th Century French ivory circular pocket compass and thermometer, the central circular silvered dial surrounded by the curved mercury thermometer tube, the ivory base with black inscribed detail and dated `Paris 1838`, within a pierced border, diameter approx 10cm, with original leather case (some faults).
A late Victorian oak cased weather station by John Davis & Son, Derby, containing a central barograph above mercury thermometer, flanked by a timepiece and barometer, the timepiece with fusee movement, the signed silvered circular dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, the silvered barograph dial inscribed `John Davis & Son, All Saints Works, Derby and London Offices, 118 Newgate St`, the rectangular case with moulded pediment above a glazed fall front and access door to rear, on a moulded rectangular pedestal base, length approx 66cm, together with pendulum and winder (one section of moulding lacking).
Solid silver Regimental Barometer / Thermometer. The rare barometer having the Regimental Insignia to the top, inscribed ‘To the Duke of Wellington Regiment Sheffield 1912’. Bearing the retailers mark Weir & Sons Dublin and inscribed ‘Bequeathed to the Officers 2nd Battalion Duke of Wellington Regiment by Major PB Smith late of the Regiment May 1912’. 27 x 39 cms and gross weight 1300 grams
An Edwardian silver desk compendium, by Collett & Anderson, Birmingham 1927, of engine turned rectangular form with central foliate bow surmount and easel back, the central attached thermometer flanked by plated clock and barometer, the dials inscribed Harrods Ltd., initialled to easel, 10.5 x 15.5cm, in fitted case CONDITION REPORT: Case worn. Small knocks. Dials discoloured. Surrounds of dials were plated and this has rubbed off. Dent to one corner.
