A bronze sundial, with a solid gnomon, finely engraved with a compass, signed 'PATTRICK LONDON', 22.3cm diameter. Thomas Pattrick active between 1799-1811, Optician Globe Maker and Spectacles Maker, 8 Orange Street, Leicester Square, 20 Plumtree Street, Bloomsbury and 29 King Street, Covent Garden.
A silver and silver gilt pocket sundial probably by Lesley Durbin being a replica of a 10th Century Saxon pocket sundial. An example was found in the Cloister Garth of Canterbury Cathedral in 1939. The pin or gnomon is inserted into the hole that corresponds to the appropraite month then suspended by the chain. 3' long. London 1975. C.R. All good

An Augsburg Universal equinoctial sundial, late 18th century, in a portable oak case initialled verso L.T.M. (possibly Ludovicus Theodatus Muller, Germany), the octagonal brass plate engraved with scrollwork and containing a magnetic compass with engraved base plate, the equinoctial hour ring is hinged to the North side and the adjustable latitude arc to the West side of the plate, the gnomon centred at a pivoted bar, with the original carved oak hexagonal box bearing indistinct inscription to the inner rim.
