A RUBY AND DIAMOND CLUSTER RING, the oval mixed-cut ruby claw set within a border of round brilliant-cut diamonds, 18ct gold mounted, total diamond weight approximately 0.50ct, ring size M Condition report: The ruby has a deep pinkish-red hue and contains feather/fractured inclusions, with light surface scuffs/scratches and small nicks/chips to facet edges. The ruby measures approx. 5.5mm length x 4.3mm width x 3.3mm depth. Diamonds are well matched, bright and lively, with estimated VS1 to SI2 clarity and H to J colour, assessed mounted. The ring mount has light surface wear, nicks and scuffs, with maker’s mark ‘DB’ in lozenge-shaped punch. Length of setting approx. 1.2cm. Gross weight approx. 3.4gm.

A RUBY AND DIAMOND THREE STONE RING, the oval mixed-cut ruby claw set between two round brilliant-cut diamonds, two colour precious metal mounted, total diamond weight approximately 0.30ct, ring size I Condition report: The ruby has a deep purplish-red hue with fissures/fractures and needle-like inclusions visible under magnification, light surface wear and facet edge nicks/chips, with a larger chip to one end of the stone. The ruby measures approx. 6.2mm length x 4.7mm width 2.6mm depth. Diamonds are bright and lively, with estimated I to J colour and SI1 to SI3 clarity, assessed mounted. The mount has surface wear and patchy rubbing to the sides of the claw setting. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 2.5gm.

There is a small split under the gallery where the setting meets the finger, there are three patches of solder joining the central cluster to the lobed cluster, all diamonds are present and correct, bright and lively. There is also a thin split to the setting towards the inner of one of the corners to the diamond setting, one of the diamonds in the similar area is also slightly knocked into the setting, and another diamond has worn through a small section of the setting above it, however all diamonds are secure. The ruby has numerous fractures, and a number of surface reaching fractures, there is a knock to the side of the ruby with a fracture by it, and some nibbles to another side of the stone.Condition Report Disclaimer

A rare pair of Chinese yangcai 'New Year Longevity' stem cups, Qianlong or Jiaqing period, each of inverted bell shape with moulded mask ring handles, finely painted to medallions with prunus, lingzhi and sacred bamboo (nandina) which form the rebus - May the fungus bestow longevity, the reverse inscribed 'xin nian ming bei' (New Year longevity cup) 'yu Kai fu ju' (an extract from a poem) and 'fu jiang zeng wan' (fujiang's pleasures), on a sgraffito ruby ground decorated with feathery leaves and flowers, the interiors with five red bats, symbolising the ‘Five Blessings’, there is a different diaper band below each rim and around each foot, the base with underglaze blue mark 'zhu lin tang' (Pearl Forest Hall), 11cm highCONDITION: One of the cups has been broken in half and reglued with some filler restoration and splintering to the immediate area on the inside. They don't appear to have any restoration or filling on the exterior, but there is also a small associated chip to the rim on one side. The second cup has a small V-shaped section of the rim broken and reglued, with some slight splinter losses around the immediate area on the exterior and a short hairline crack curving around from this, there is also some flaking to the enamel on the top of one of the mask handles and also both with some wear to the gilding on the rim.
