A French majolica Palissy style trompe-l'oeil oval dish, late 19th Century, the interior with fish and an eel on a bed of leaves, with a terrapin, snake, lizard, beetle and snail, on a texture blue ground, probably by Francois Maurice, 41.5cm long CONDITION REPORT: there is a section of the rim which has been broken off, at the end with the lizard, and well glued. One of the fish has its tail broken and is loose. Shallow chipping to the fins of the eel

Some pieces have crazing.

Lot includes Royal Winton 'Rouge' jug of bulbous form, Falcon Ware jug modelled as a bunch of fruit, 2 Royal Doulton Trio's in 'Sherbrooke' & 'Sonnet', Palissy 'Orchid' coffee pot and Royal Copenhagen Langelinie pin dish.
Two Mafra Palissy majolica wall plaques, one with a snake and crocodile, the other with a crocodile, frog, turtle and butterfly, both with indistinct impressed makers marks to the undersides, both approx. 17cm diameter (2)The plaque with a snake - some very small areas of losses to the glaze, notably to areas of the rim. A couple of small chips, one to the cocodile's tail, the snake with areas of fading, the underside with with possible restoration. Some ends of the 'grass' chipped.The plaque with the butterfly - one wing of the butterfly, cracked and broken, it appears to have been glazed over suggesting this is an historic firing crack? Loss of paintwork to the tortoises face.

Two 19th Century glazed pottery figural ornaments, a Staffordshire style miniature recumbent lion, a miniature Palissy style fish platter, a cottage ware cream jug, and a malachite lion ornamentCondition report - The fish plate is 11cm long, however it is cracked through. The tallest figure measures 19cm high. There is damage and loss of glaze to the head of the tallest figure, the figure ornament to the right has losses and damage to the upper area, the porcelain lion is cracked and has been reglued.
A group of mixed blue and white transfer printed pottery comprising a large Copeland Spode Italian pattern tureen (marked verso) (h- 21cm, w- 36cm), a pair of Copeland Spode Italian covered dishes (marked verso), a 19th century tureen with 'Bridge of Lucano Italy' design (marked to interior, possibly Spode) (h- 14cm, w- 20cm), and a 'Cookham Berks' 'Thames River Scenes' dish (marked verso Palissy Pottery England) (5)
Four trays of Palissy 'Sierra' design items to include: two coffee pots, coffee cups and saucers, bowls, eggcups, teacups, salt and peppers, milk jugs, lidded pots, sugar bowl etc. (4) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Too much to condition every item individually. One coffee pot has the wrong lid. Coffee pots and cups and may other items have crazing. Looks useable and in good condition apart from crazing.
Six boxes of Royal Worcester 'Evesham' items to include; lidded tureens, ramekins, plates, chamber stick, bowls, mugs, coffee cups, shell shaped dishes, centre bowl, sauceboats on stands, casseroles, napkin rings etc. Together with a Royal Worcester 'Arden' heart shaped cabinet cup and saucer, Portmeirion 'Summer Strawberries' cylinder vase and Palissy chamber stick.
