The katana was not allowed to be worn on this occasion, only the Wakisachi.The model shown on the mannequin is also equipped with a natural iron breastplate bordered by a copper Fukurin with the Mon of the Osokawa clan (heraldic emblem) in Uchidachi (embossed). The equipment includes natural iron Kote (half-sleeves), chainmail Suneate (shin guard), Waraji (woven rice straw sandals) and Tabi (cloth slippers).It is accompanied by an identical child's Kamishimo on mannequin with Jingasa (light lacquered hat) and Tanto Koshirae (sword).Samurai were often asked by the Daimyo to leave a family member behind as a token of loyalty.The Jingasa, the Wakizachi frames and the 2 Kamichimo are decorated with the Osokawa clan Mon.The lot is accompanied by a large Kiri (magnolia) wood box inscribed ‘Pair of Kamishimo’ containing the same fine canvas shoulder garment printed with the same Mon for summer

PREDATOR - REQUIEM (2007) - Wolf (Ian Whyte) Predator Costume Display - A Wolf (Ian Whyte) Predator costume display from The Brothers Strause's sci-fi action sequel Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. The hunter known as Wolf (Ian Whyte) crash-landed in Gunnison, Colorado to dispatch the murderous Predalien born at the conclusion of Paul W.S. Anderson's Alien vs. Predator.This full-size display consists of costume pieces created by Academy Award-winning special effects group Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI). It includes a mottled green, yellow and brown foam latex skin bodysuit with Wolf's personalised netting; a head cowl with black foam-rubber dreadlocks; airbrushed silver rubber body armour over the left shoulder, breast, knees and calves; a spiky black rubber wrap-around necklace; a brown leather bandolier; a pair of foam feet with snap-button ankle closures and silver resin toe-blades affixed; mounted back-armor and shoulder cannon, and a pair of dense rubber wrist gauntlets, one of which is made to look partially destroyed. A replica helmet cast from original moulds, and a replica waist-skirt with a production-made center component complete the piece for display.This costume is purposely distressed with grime, and detailed with otherworldly Yautja designs first made famous in John McTiernan's Predator. It is mounted on a fibreglass mannequin with a sturdy metal armature and affixed to a wooden base for display purposes. It exhibits various cracks and wear to the foam rubber throughout. HELLBOY (2004) - Hellboy's (Ron Perlman) Costume on Display - Hellboy's (Ron Perlman) costume from Guillermo del Toro's fantasy film Hellboy. Hellboy wore his costume while visiting Rasputin's (Karel Roden) mausoleum, and during the film's final climactic battle. The costume includes a black T-shirt with a black jacket worn over the top; a pair of leather trousers; and a leather belt and holster with metal hardware (including a lucky horseshoe and a crucifix) plus a long red foam latex tail coming from the rear. The costume also features a full-length leather duster, with a leather B.P.R.D. patch and a grenade belt on the left shoulder. The grenade belt is deliberately damaged, as in the film it was broken during the fight against Rasputin and his hellhounds. A pair of black leather boots are included to complete the outfit. Two labels are attached to the costume, which declare the numbers of the scenes it was produced for. The lot is accompanied by a resin replica Good Samaritan pistol with a leather tassel and a replica Fist of Doom, as well as a facial appliance. It is presented on a custom-made mannequin display, and the replica items also come with custom-made display stands, and are packed in their original boxes. HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY (2008) - Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) Upper Body and Head Prosthetics - A set of Abe Sapien (Doug Jones) upper body and head prosthetics from Guillermo del Toro's action-adventure sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Amphibious Abe fought alongside Hellboy (Ron Perlman) and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair) to stop Prince Nuada (Luke Goss) from reactivating the Golden Army.This set of prosthetics was used to create Abe's entire upper body, comprising head, torso, arm and hand appliances. As an aquatic creature, Abe's skin is blue and features fins that assist with swimming. The skin is made from foam latex, while the fins are made of a translucent silicone material with ribbing running along their spines. The set is completed by a soft rubber stunt respirator with ribbed collar detailing. The prosthetics have some paint wear and minor tears in the foam latex. They are presented on a custom mannequin display which has some small scratches on the base. AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER (2002) - Mini Me's (Verne Troyer) Prison Costume - A Mini Me (Verne Troyer) prison costume display from Jay Roach's spy-comedy sequel Austin Powers in Goldmember. Mini Me wore his prison costume while serving time behind bars with Dr Evil (Mike Myers).The costume was custom-made for Troyer and comprises a purple cotton paisley-patterned bandana; a blue cotton shirt with a "00001/8" prisoner badge stitched onto the left pectoral; a pair of blue braces; a pair of blue denim trousers; and a pair of blue suede Hush Puppies loafers (size "UK 9.5N"). "#1" is handwritten in black marker pen inside the shirt's collar, and also in silver marker pen on the inside of both the trousers' waistband and the right loafer. A costume label stitched inside the trousers has "Verne Troyer" handwritten on it in blue ink. The costume is displayed on a custom-made stand with a wooden base, a plaque bearing the film's title, and an acrylic rod to support the foam mannequin. A metal halo extends from the top of the mannequin, on which the bandana is displayed. THE MARTIAN (2015) - Major Rick Martinez's (Michael Pena) Martian Surface Suit - Major Rick Martinez's (Michael Pena) Martian surface suit from Ridley Scott's sci-fi drama The Martian. Martinez and the other members of the Ares III crew wore their suits on the surface of Mars as a storm began to kick up, leading them to abort their mission. Costume designer Janty Yates worked extensively with NASA officials, researchers and engineers to ensure the film's spacesuits were as realistic as possible. The costume comprises a custom-made orange, white and black neoprene jumpsuit, a rubber neck piece, a pair of boots, and a skull cap. "Martinez Stunt" is handwritten inside the neck piece in white ink, while "M" is handwritten inside the skullcap in blue ink. The boots comprise a pair of 5mm Celliant Infrared diving boots with a separately sourced outer boot frame made of rubber with a resin decorative feature on the top. Several detailed metal and resin components decorate the suit, including knee and shoulder pads. STAR WARS: ORIGINAL TRILOGY (1977-1983) - Promotional DNA Productions Darth Vader Tour Costume - A Darth Vader touring costume used to promote the release of George Lucas' Star Wars Trilogy on videotape. The promotional costume was crafted by former LucasFilm archivist Don Bies and his wife Anna of DNA Productions in 1995 for distributor Fox Studios.The costume comprises a vacuum-formed plastic helmet and fibreglass mask; a stretch fabric collar; a full-length cape and under-robe; vacuum-formed plastic chest armour with attached pauldrons; a fibreglass chest control box; a tunic featuring faux leather sleeves; a pair of gloves; a leather belt featuring three control boxes; a padded leather codpiece; a pair of faux leather trousers; and a pair of leather boots with attached plastic shin guards.Each glove has a DNA Productions label sewn to its interior with "#7" handwritten in blue ink. Clipped onto the belt's left side is a cast resin lightsaber, based on a casting of the "Energizer Bunny" lightsaber used in the infamous 1994 Energizer commercial. The chest and belt boxes contain internal electronics that illuminate various buttons, including three red lights on the chest, which light up in sequence. One belt box contains a circuit board that once projected the Sith Lord's breath sounds. The electronics were designed and built by former ILM model maker and Mythbuster Grant Imahara.There are signs of wear and age, with some minor damage present on the mask. The costume comes presented on a custom-made mannequin and is supplied with an external 12V power supply. This is believed to be the first example of this style of touring costume to come to auction.
