Dame Lucie Rie and Hans Coper a tall stoneware mug, with dark brown matt glaze to the lower half and mottled white glaze to the upper half, interior and base, impressed potters` marks, 4¼in. (10.7cm.) high, hairline crack visible to interior. * This mug was made as a demonstration piece by Rie in the prescence of the vendor in the mid-1950s, when she attended Farnham School of Art as a guest tutor. Lucie Rie (1902 - 1995) vase with pink and brown and green ribbed body, monogram to base, also four Lucie Rie pottery buttons, together with three letters addressed to the vendor signed by Lucie Rie, a single stamp 31p stamp and two pages of A4 stating when the vendor met the artist. Condition report: No damages or restoration to the vase. One button has two glaze chips to the points of the moulding, another has a chip to the reverse. Condition report: see terms and conditions. The vase measures 8.5cm high.

Dame Lucie Rie (1902-1995): A Stoneware Teapot and Cover, with applied bamboo handle, covered in a shiny black glaze, the cover with a grey glaze rim, impressed potters LR seal mark, height including handle 21.5cm high Teapot has been used and has some scratches (one below the spout coming up from the foot rim) and foot rim chips (probably when made) the cover is in good order. 20/03/2013

PROVENANCE Bought by Kenneth Rowntree direct from the studio in the early 1950's. Sold by direction of Kenneth Rowntree's family.
