(D)Provenance: The Norman and Kathleen Makinson Collection. Originally a gift from the artist to a furniture shop owner on Sloane Street, London and then subsequently gifted to the Makinsons. Norman Makinson was a ceramic artist and designer and is probably best known for his 1951 Festival of Britain commemorative mug. Note: There is a bloat to the well which has distorted the foot and is probably why the bowl was gifted by Rie rather than sold. Additional InformationThere is a tiny nick to rim and also a small area of glaze loss to a different part of the rim, otherwise appears good with no further signs of faults, damage or restorations.
