An Edwardian brass lantern clock, in 17th century style, with arched dome and turned finial, pierced and foliate engraved frets, four turned pillars, and polished sides, the dial centre engraved with flowers, silver chapter ring (a/f detached) with Roman numerals, half hour markers and minute track, the four post movement chiming on a bell, with anchor escapement and fusee gear chain drive, the rear door with engraved presentation inscription 'To Hugh Mitchell Esq, from the Employees of The Randfontein Estates, 30th June 1926', raised on four turned feet, 14.2 by 14.2 by 37.5cm high.
