A Victorian sapphire and diamond crescent bar brooch, circa 1880, the crescent set with graduated circular cut sapphires with an inner crescent of old cut diamonds, and a central old brilliant cut diamond accent, approximately 0.23 carats total, to a knife edge bar with sapphire terminals, 5cm long, 7.3g gross, in an associated brown case with gilt toolingCondition Report: The crescent is 1.9cm long. All stones present and correct. The brooch has been later rhodium plated, it is probably to help disguise some repairs, one of the terminal sapphires appears to have been reset and claws retipped, the brooch clasp has been resoldered on, as well as the principal diamond setting, the claws around the diamond are thin. The claws holding the terminal sapphire that hasn't been reset are also thin, and two have lost their tips, however the stone is still secure. Condition Report Disclaimer
