The estimated qualities of the diamond are; colour: H/I; clarity: SI1/SI2.
A LATE 19TH / EARLY 20TH CENTURY BLACK OPAL AND DIAMOND NECKLACE graduated oval black opals suspended from diamond-set knife-edge bars to black opal and diamond swag links, to a diamond-set double bar link necklace. Estimated total diamond weight 6.00ct, drop length 2.9cm, chain length 40cm, 26.2 gramsGood condition. No noted repairs, some claws may have been retipped, the diamonds to the central drop are all old-cut, the other diamonds are all rose-cuts (this is believed to be intentional and original). No additions or adaptations noted. Length of the central drop: 2.8cm long, length of shorted drop: 1.8cm, length of gem-set swag/drop section: 21cm. The largest opal measures 10.00mm x 8.5mm x 4.13mm approximately. The diamonds are a combination of old-cut and rose-cuts. Estimated diamond colour: H/I/J; estimated clarity: SI1/SI2. Provided with a box - antique with later added fitted insert.
