A late Victorian tea equipage in a fitted mahogany box comprising:- a four piece tea and coffee service with part fluted decoration, a butter knife, a pair of sugar tongs and five teaspoons initialled, by H. Malthews, Birmingham 1892/3 (and one other matching spoon by another maker Birmingham 1893), 42oz.
A scarce early 18th century penner, the vase shaped inkpot part fluted with an octagonal upper body on a seal foot with intaglio initials and coronet, the tubular section faceted and unscrewing to reveal a dip pen and a removable finial fitted with a steel knife blade, unmarked, probably continental, 1720-30, 4.6in (12cm) high, 1oz.
