An Art Deco Open Faced Keyless Pocket Watch, retailed by Yard, signed International Watch Co, lever movement signed and with six adjustments, silvered dial with applied Breguet type numerals, seconds, case with engraved initials FWW, stamped 18k and numbered 55112, 44mm wide, with a fancy link chain, the end link stamped 14k, and a 9ct gold mounted pen knife with engraved initials SW Sold with a photocopy of a letter dated 1923 relating to F W Woolworth & Co stores and a photocopy of a invitation in honour of Mrs Sam Whitehead 20.03.13, Case with light surface scratches, case back engraved with initials FWW, dial with small scratches, movement in going order. Pen knive with engraved initials SW.
A Diamond Navette Cluster Ring, old cut diamonds in a white pavé setting, to shoulders each inset with an old cut diamond, in yellow claws to an indented shoulder knife edge shank, total estimated diamond weight 2.50 carat approximately, finger size K The ring is in good condition. It bears no hallmark, nor stamps, but in our opinion it would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 4.8 grams. A Late Victorian Ruby, Diamond and Pearl Brooch, a pearl and old cut diamond cluster to the centre of a bar, with a diamond and ruby crescent around it, and ruby and diamond set terminals, in yellow and white claw and collet settings, on a yellow knife edge bar, total estimated diamond weight 0.70 carat approximately, measures 6cm by 3.2cm The brooch is in fair condition. It is a little out of shape. It fastens with a pin and revolver catch. It bears no hallmark, nor stamps, but in our opinion would test as silver and gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity I1/I2/I3. Gross weight 11.8 grams. CR made 20th March 2013
A Canteen of Composite Sandringham Pattern Silver Flatware, mainly maker`s mark EV, Sheffield 1931-33, comprising twelve table forks (1933), twelve dessert spoons, twelve dessert forks, three table spoons, twelve cake forks (1931), twelve soup spoons (1932), twelve coffee spoons (maker`s mark G&Co Ld, Sheffield 1973), eleven teaspoons (maker`s mark G& Co Ld, Sheffield 1975, one 1973), twelve fish knives and forks, silver blades and tines and filled handles (1933), fish slice and fork, bread knife (1932), twelve fruiting knives and forks with silver blades and tines and filled silver handles (1933), a five piece carving set with silver filled handles (1932), twelve table knives, and twelve side knives (1932, one Sheffield 1941), in a mahogany effect serpentine front three-drawer (dwarf sideboard) canteen on tapered square legs with spade feet, 57cm wide, weighable silver 132oz One spoon with bowl dent, otherwise remaining flatware in good useable condition with very little wear and tear, except for the knives which have become quite worn. Silver items hallmarks good. Anything with filled handles some wear to the marks. 030613
A Victorian Part Service of Silver Flatware, Francis Higgins & Son, London 1892-5, one fork RWB, London 1931, Old English pattern, crested, comprising nine table spoons, eleven table forks, six teaspoons, four salt spoons, a soup ladle, a pair of basting spoons, a pair of sauce ladles, a butter knife and a pair of sugar tongs, with twelve synthetic ivory-handled steel-bladed knives, 78oz 8dwt weighable silver Light wear to all the fork tines. The odd single with a shell heel and clipped tines. Otherwise all in good order with clear marks. 280513
A Japanese Carved Wood and Ivory Mounted Large Figural Okimono, late Meiji period (1868-1912), of a young girl peeling a vegetable, her chignon held by a comb, seated in a kimono on a tatami mat resting on two baskets containing further vegetables, and bare foot, 46cm high, upon an associated openwork pierced table stand of rounded rectangular form, the rails carved with pairs of birds amongst waves and scrolls, on incurved feet linked by shaped stretchers, 43cm by 30.5cm by 16cm Figure with numerous serious drying cracks on the head (some run through the face). Some drying cracks in the collar of the kimono. Further drying cracks in the limbs, hands and vegetable being peeled. Parts of the peeler knife missing (pieces not retained). Fragment of ivory on her knee which may have been a larger piece? (piece not retained and signs of glue). Some further drying cracks in wood. Cracks in both feet. Also drying cracks to fruits (which are ivory) in the basket. Some chipping along the ends of the tatami mat. The stand has been reglued and probably some new screws holding it steady. Small filler and small repairs. On the main table there are two small circular plug repairs. 030613
A Pair of George III Mahogany Knife Boxes, of typical concave fronted form, edged with boxwood, with original, interior fitting, 36.3cm high, 22.5cm wide Both in fully restored condition - repolished and varnished, old repairs visible. Probably originally had key escutcheons, now lacking on both. One with crack along the back panel. The other showing repairs around the hinge area. Locks probably altered. Sold a/f. 310513
