Found Chelmsford, Essex, 1970s (2013 T936"). S. 966; N. 475/1. See Treasure Act, reference 2013 T936 (coin 1"). This coin, with the others from the same find, was discovered many years ago in the bed of a then dried lake, while the finder was fishing; the coins sat for years in his tackle box until they were processed under the Treasure Act in 2013. Near as struck; some minor adhesions. Rare.

These fragments, with the full coins from the same find, were discovered many years ago in the bed of a then dried lake, while the finder was fishing; the coins sat for years in his tackle box until they were processed under the Treasure Act in 2013. A mahogany fishing tackle box, with twin top compartments, each concealing three interior compartments, and a drawer underneath, with a leather carrying strap, 39 cm wide, and assorted fishing tackle Condition report Report by GH The make of the fly reel in the box is A & N C S Ltd, Victoria Street, London, the brass reel does not appear to be stamped with the maker. There is also a cigarette tin containing various wet and dry flies, approx. 20, and another containing barbed hooks. We cannot currently get the drawer, which accesses the underneath of the box to open with the keys that we have.
An A & N C J L brass fly fishing reel, 2¾ inch diameter, another, believed to be a Hardy Perfect, 3 inch diameter (a.f.), four others, two leather and pigskin trace/leader cases, other tackle and accessories (box) Condition report Report by GH The reel, what we think is probably a Hardy reel in this lot, is generally in very poor condition. When turned it only clicks for around half the cycle. It has some damage near one of the strengthening posts, and the drum is loose within the frame.
A large and impressive taxidermy of male and female western capercaillie (tetrao urogallus), both set upon a lichen covered log with ferns, painted back, glazed sides and front bearing label inscribed "Henry Shaw, Naturalist, 45, High Street, Shrewsbury, Fishing-Tackle Maker", height 104cm, length 116cm. CONDITION REPORT: Case needs attention as it is loose. Glass is cracked.
