Taxidermy: A Cased Northern Pike (Esox lucius), a full mount landed catch, tied upright upon a snow covered broken fence post, fishing rods and tackle beside, all mounted within a frosted scene, set against a painted back drop, enclosed within a three-glass floor standing display case, with gilt moulded border, 46cm by 25.5cm by 135cm, bearing paper legend to interior upper right '' A Winters Pike, caught by Mr S.D. Lawrence, River Stour, 21st December 1947, 16lbs - 3oz''.On further inspection probably late 20th century. The fish is an actual skin mount and not a fibreglass replica. All glass good no cracks, case is sound, section of moulding to the base front is broken off - approximately 5”. Some dirt to the interior of the glass. 11/03/21
C.FARLOW & CO 191 STRAND LONDON BROWN LEATHER TACKLE CASE with leather carrying straps, fitted with a tray and green-based compartments, containing various contents of flies, fishing lures, line, fly tins, and lure tins, etc. with inscription to the top of the case "W. E Eyre, 43 Hartley House, Regents Park, London", 24cm x 50cm, and a pen and ink drawing of a salmon with its details "Length 43.5", girth, 24.5", weight 31lbs, March 11th, 1914, on the river Oich, and signed Eyre. Provenance: the Estate of the late Rufus Eyre.
