Frank Dobson - Driffield, a Victorian mahogany crossbanded oak longcase clock, the eight-day movement striking on a bell, the 13" painted arched dial with hare coursing scene and floral spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial, the hood with swan neck pediment and brass finials, key, pendulum and two weights, height 241cm Frank Dobson had premises in Market Place, Driffield between 1823 -1861, Craven Lyons, of Bridlington, worked for him as a journeyman prior to 1823. He also ran the Post Office, was a brass founder, sold jewellery and fishing tackle, a man of many talents.
A quantity of fishing tackle including a Hardy "Hardy-Wallis" 3½ inch reel, an Allcock 3 inch reel, four fly tins, various spools, and six fishing rods including an example by Hardy. CONDITION REPORT: Rods include: Superflex, Henry Aiken, The Winner, Lindop. Allcock: metal in good condition. Hardy: good condition.
